Know the value.
Know what to expect.
Collectors Factory helps you use market data and real conversations to make a deal that works for you. A good trade starts with understanding the cards, the other collector, and the terms.
Understand the price you are comparing
Our current Pokémon price references come from TCGplayer and Cardmarket through TCGdex. TCGplayer Market Price is based on recent completed sales. These are provider price summaries; Collectors Factory does not currently provide individual sold-transaction records or a verified count of the sales behind each price.
Choose the exact language, printing, and variant. Check the displayed source and update time. Condition, grading, stamps, and edition can change the value, and source mappings can contain errors. Prices exclude shipping and fees. Euro references are converted to dollars using the current exchange rate; regional market differences can still remain.
A market reference is a starting point for a conversation. It is not an appraisal, a promised selling price, or a guarantee that a trade is fair.
See the actual card and ask questions
Review the seller’s actual photos, zoom in, and ask for missing angles or condition details before agreeing. Pricing-tool pictures are catalog references, not evidence of the condition of the seller’s card. Offers can include multiple cards, optional cash, and private comments.
Understand checkout and delivery
Cash checkout uses Stripe where the seller’s payment account is ready. Payment is confirmed before the card is marked sold. An accepted offer alone does not charge anyone. Additional seller payment onboarding is still being completed.
Shipping currently uses the charge displayed by the seller. Live USPS rates and labels are still being connected. Sellers can add USPS tracking to paid orders, and buyers can confirm receipt after inspecting the card. Card-for-card trades require both collectors to agree on fulfillment and do not use cash checkout.
Collectors Factory does not currently provide escrow, an automatic seller payout hold, or a marketplace insurance guarantee. Shipment coverage depends on the service actually purchased and its terms. Ask about coverage before shipping a valuable card.
Where authentication stands
We are exploring a physical authentication option for purchases of $250 or more. No authentication partner is currently confirmed, and checkout remains available. Do not ship to a supposed Collectors Factory authenticator without receiving and verifying specific instructions from support.
For a graded card, check its grading company, certification number, card details, and holder photos. A valid certification number alone does not authenticate the physical card or holder: genuine numbers can be copied. Automated certificate verification and physical inspection are separate checks; we do not currently label inventory as independently authenticated by Collectors Factory.
Reach a person when something is wrong
Use private order comments or report an order issue from your dashboard. Keep your photos, packaging, tracking, and order reference. You can also email [email protected]. An issue report starts a support record; it does not automatically refund payment or freeze seller funds.
We welcome suggestions about the site and its pricing tools. Tell us what would make your next trade easier to evaluate.
